I was driving to work yesterday and this beautiful whatever flew right in front of the car, went over the top of the car with the slipstream. I thought horsefly and cool and things like that. It was very pretty.
However. I didn't know, was it a horsefly or a dragonfly? Or are the two the same thing and people call them by different names in different places?
Well, I did my google thing and I am here to tell you that they are definitely two different things.
Dragonflies are beautiful flying insects.
Horseflies are Icky.
Horseflies look like if they bite you it is going to hurt a lot. Just like when a horse bites you. Kind of scary looking.
Dragonflies are more ethereal. They may hurt when they bite you, but they'll look prettier doing it.
