This is where I get to be me -- whomever I am on that particular day.

Ted Hughes

I've read a lot but I'm not what I would call an educated person. I pretend to be, aspire to be, but in truth am not. That's one of the things I'm working on.

I have found something to read that is so wonderful, so beautiful, so pure in its art form -- it is nearly indescribable.

Ted Hughes. I love his poetry, yes. But that's not what I'm on about today. A couple of months ago I read his translation of Phaedre (Greek tragedy) and loved it. Now I am reading The Oresteia, also Greek tragedy. Wonderful.

I've only just started but -- it's music. His writing is music.

Now I see what is meant by Poet Laureate.

Don't know why he's clothed in the shower, and don't care.
