When I was a kid, we went to church every week. Not the same church 'cause we moved around a lot, but we went, every Sunday. Baptist one year, Methodist or Lutheran the next. Never really noticed any differences between them -- they all had the same stories. I went to Sunday School every week and each summer to Bible camp.
What I most remember about church are the little illustrated Bible stories they gave us, and the macaroni arts and crafts at camp. I used to eat the macaroni, even though it was uncooked and sticky with glue. My eating neurosis started WAY early.
Anyway, I remember when I was a teenager someone told me they weren't Christian. I was stunned. I hadn't realized up to that point that there were people on the planet that weren't Christian. I thought everyone was Christian. EVERYONE. I didn't take Buddhism into acct. Judaism, Islam? Hinduism. Uh huh. They were simply not a part of my world.
